Flow Simple API

We launched the Flow Simple API, this is the first of a new set of APIs we have been developing to allow developers and projects to tap into our rich data.

This API replaces our legacy Historical API and maintains a free tier for individual users and small projects but with additional data and tiers for higher usage. Read our announcement article.

Telepurrter

The cat, or rather, the CryptoKitties egg is out of the bag. We built an official Telepurrter for CryptoKitties: ALL THE ZEN! to allow egg owners to Telepuurt from Ethereum to EVM on Flow and mutate their metadata in the process. It is an awesome two-way bridge. Read the case-study.

Flowscan

Work has begin creating a cohesive experience in Flowscan for both Flow and EVM on Flow networks.
Currently the EVM on Flow block explorer is a Blockscout instance separate from the Flow Cadence network. It is an interesting problem to solve bringing the two worlds into a sing, user friendly experience. We are working to have this ready in March.

Google BigQuery

We were approached by Google to provide data to their Big Query dataset for Flow which was an exciting opportunity for us and benefits both the Flow ecosystem and the broader Blockchain ecosystem.
Work on this was completed this month backfilling Flow transaction and account data and providing Google with an ongoing feed of data into the future.

• We created some guidelines around NFT metadata specific to Flowscan. As you can see our NFT details page is one of the richest in the Flow ecosystem.

  

We built a brand new block explorer using a new API, a new design, with new features and a new name.

We welcomed the new Flowscan into the world on September 4th to tie in with the broader ecosystem naming convention. We built a new design to allow for EVM on Flow data alongside Flow blockchain data while providing a simple and clean UI.

Crescendo network upgrade

September 4th also brought us into a new era with the largest upgrade to Flow since it’s launch in 2020. Read about the benefits that this momentous update brings in our Twitter thread.

For this update we helped multiple projects prepare for the upgrade by updating their contracts including Aera, Bl0x, Doodles, Flomies, Generated Experience, Gooberz, Neo Collectibles, NonFunGerbils, Party Favorz.

Since the update our CTO Bjartek has been sifting through transactions looking for problematic contracts and alerting those projects with fix suggestions.

We have been consolidating and refining Flowscan the last couple of week and we will continue to do this while we start on combining EVM on Flow data into Flowscan, which currently runs as a separate version of Flowscan.

There is also some work to be done sanitising NFT collections and NFTs data coming into the explorer. We will be working with projects to make sure their collections display well.

The Find Labs team has grown stronger while staying busy! Numerous bugs were fixed and updates were completed over the last few weeks, including hosting our own internal Hackathon to build camaraderie from within. Overall, the internal hackathon was such a success that leadership has decided to consider possible ways to bring this new product to life on the Flow blockchain.

With that fun team-building exercise completed, all team members are now working closer together and have a better understanding of how we will push the limits of what is possible #onFlow!

Internal Hackathon:

With two new members, the team concentrated their time on working together while testing new ideas and concepts. The team was given one weeks time to create something interesting and they really knocked it out the park.

• Designed a novel way for users of the finished project to interact on the Flow blockchain

• Created engaging UI/UX elements

• Tested ideas for specific themes depending on NFTs in the users' wallets

• Tested different greetings based on multiple criteria

• Tested staggered animations when layers appeared

• Tested different styles of leaderboards while sourcing information from our own Flow API

• Researched and tested working with Rive Animations

Along with numerous other benefits that come with hosting an internal Hackathon.

Cadence 1.0 - Updating Contracts:

Stable Cadence is coming soon to the Flow blockchain and our team is ready! The backend team has been steadily updating all Find Labs smart contracts. We are expecting an easy transition to Cadence 1.0, and will be standing by incase updates are needed.

Varied Improvements and Cadence 1.0 Preparations:

The Flow blockchain will soon undergo a significant upgrade, known as the Crescendo update. This upgrade brings a wealth of new features and stability to the Flow ecosystem.

Cadence is the official programming language for writing smart contracts on the Flow blockchain. Now, we are witnessing the maturation of the language with the release of Cadence 1.0.

With Cadence 1.0, Flow finds its footing and stretches its legs.

Featuring EVM and opening the doors for new DeFi, NFT, and gaming opportunities #onFlow. That is why our team has been hard at work ensuring everything is ready to go once the Crescendo release goes live.

Attention: The Crescendo update will also cause issues for contracts that weren’t properly updated before its release.

Updating Contracts:

While the new update brings many exciting features, it will break older contracts that aren’t properly updated for the new system. Our team has been diligently working to update all contracts under our control to ensure an easy transition to Stable Cadence.

We have 40+ contracts to maintain, and updating them to meet the needs of Cadence 1.0 has been a priority.

Cadence is the official programming language for writing smart contracts on the Flow blockchain. This language has been in beta since the inception of Flow. Now, we are witnessing the maturation of the language with the release of Stable Cadence, or Cadence 1.0.

Additionally, over the past couple of weeks, our front-end team has been deeply committed to enhancing the reliability and responsiveness of Flowdiver.io. While the latest build hasn’t launched yet, it will be soon. Once live, the overall site will load faster and provide increased stability. These updates, though not immediately visible on the surface, are crucial for the continuous operation and reliability of our platform.

Flowdiver

Frontend Overhaul:

While the backend team was updating contracts, building APIs, and working with the Google team. The frontend developers were busy rebuilding the frontend for Flowdiver. The website won’t be changing how it looks, but will be snappier and more stable after our next update goes live in the coming days.

• Team rebuilt the Flowdiver website to increase loading speeds and stability.

DEX Screener Integration:

Our team is hard at work developing a solution to integrate all necessary data for Fungible Tokens (FTs) on the Flow blockchain into DexScreener.com. This means, once reaedy, users will be able to see all FTs #onFlow displayed with detailed trading charts, helping to improve visibility and inform trading strategies.

While the timeline and specifics are still being ironed out, we are excited to bring this functionality to the community. We are aiming for a quick release, but cannot provide specifics at this moment in time. Once launched there will be numerous benefits for the Flow ecosystem.

Flowdiver now shows both FT and NFT transfers for specific wallet addresses under the transaction details tab.

Flowdiver now has ALL data from Mainnet. In addition to having all data readily available, we are preparing our backend for the Crescendo update coming to the Flow blockchain.

• Purged blocks lacking transactions for streamlined data management.

• Conducted thorough investigations into blocks with duplicate block_ids that contain transactions.

.Find Names

The find.xyz website is having its second birthday on 13.12.2023! We made some light edits to the platform while cleaning up the marketplace and converting name registrations from FUSD to USDC. These updates are small compared to what is to come in the future.

→! The Find Names website is in Legacy mode and is currently being planned for an upgraded version coming sometime next year.

• Transitioned name registrations from $FUSD to $USDC, aligning with current market standards.

• Conducted a comprehensive cleanup of the marketplace, removing outdated listings.

• Enhanced the UI in Dark Mode, resolving specific display issues.

• Rectified the Market index function to accurately reflect item transfers.

Upcoming Professional API:

• The team has been spending a lot of time developing our professional-grade API. Once launched, it will be the all-in-one product developers need to bring their creations to life when building and interacting on the Flow blockchain.

It’s that time of the month again: our bi-monthly changelog, reporting the latest developments for the Flowdiver and .find platforms. The team has been diligently working on numerous updates.

One of our major highlights is the release of our new Tokenomics page, which allows users to stay informed about the $Flow token.

Updates:

• Dark Mode has gone back to the original color scheme.

• Launched additional Tokenomics page

• If the number we are showing equals or exceeds 10 $Flow, the number will now round up to only two digits after the decimal place.

• Updated tokenomics page to correctly show values after the $Flow burning phase

API and Indexer Updates:

• Upgraded how our backend API handles .find names for better performance

• Updated function for getting totalSupply

Fixed:

• Fixed issue where Account page wasn’t updating the page properly

• Fixed issue where Kraken deposit address shows NULL and no transactions

• Fixed issue where Testnet stopped indexing

• Fixed issue where USDC price was sometimes shown improperly

• Fixed issue where address resolver wasn’t working with some contract addresses

• Fixed a typo on one of the Flowdiver page

.find Website - Bug Fixes:

• Sending NFTs - fixed a bug preventing some users from sending out packs via the .find platform.

October is behind us and the team has been adding new features, fixing issues, and updating the Flowdiver platform to better meet the community's needs. We even managed to add a fun Halloween theme while adding numerous backend updates.

Big News: Our Historical API launched in October as well, giving users and developers a quick and easy way to pull any transaction from Flow's past! You can find the link to the API at the bottom!

Flowdiver:

• New Features:

  • “Spooky” Halloween Theme Introduced for nightmode

  • Account Addresses are now clickable in “Contract View”

The .find team is steadily releasing new features and updates, with a packed future ahead of our platform, we wanted to release another Changelog to showcase what has been worked on the past weeks. Below you will .find the latest releases, updates and bug fixes to keep track of our progress.

Afterfuture Release:

Last week, the team assisted with the development side of the Afterfuture art release named, Generated Experiences. This drop took place on the .find website and the sale is on-going.

• Successfully packaged 500 packs containing up to three NFTs per pack.

• Successfully Airdropped 76 packs to qualifying recipients.Successfully collaborated with Flovatar to package 500 Backgrounds within the packs.

Hackathon Vouchers:

• Successfully Airdropped/Sent Vouchers to both winners and participants of Flow’s Hackathon.

  • Participants recieved 5-letter name vouchers

Website Updates:

• New Message Indicator Icon:

  • .find your missed items quicker with the “new messaging” indicator on the webpage.

• New Drop Page Name:

  • No longer will there be specialised drop pages, future drops will fall under the “Current Drops” tab on our page.

• New Drop Page Design:

  • The team implemented a new drop page design to encourage faster delivery times as, well as a cleaner appearance that better represents our brand moving forward.

• Mint Counter Implementation:

  • Now, new drops will have a mint count measurement bar. So users know exactly how many packs have been minted, claimed, airdropped to the community.

Bugs and Fixes:

All bugs were repaired in a timely manner, as well as, they were documented to assist with our design mechanics to prevent them from happening again on future drops.

• Fixed bug where links weren’t properly directing traffic.

• Fixed bug where some images weren’t minted with the correct path.

• Fixed bug where some rewardFields were missing data structures

• Fixed bug where some traits were not visible in darkmode

• Fixed bug where collections were not properly established

• Fixed bug preventing users the ability to claim items from Lost and Found

Testnet Updates:

• Listing Detail page wasn’t working on test.find.xyz, fixed

• Added Ballers to testnet and mainnet .find NFT registry

• With the Doodles release happening #onflow. We at .find have been working hard on the contract architechture to make that drop a success and are excited to share with everyone our creations. We also wanted to provide a rich experience for .find users on our own platform, so we have put in a lot of work to upgrade our site for the new release!

    • We are searching/developing solution for this feature

    • We will have standard 2.5% fee for .find Marketplace

    • Then a Dapper Royalty of 1% or 0.44 (whichever is higher) for Dapper transactions

  • Removed - Removed DUC from Dapper Profile View - this token is never more than 0

  Doodles Specific Updates:

  • Added initWearables and sendWearables to Dapper TXN

  • Added “to get” status if you have Doodles account or not

  • Added Create Transaction to init Doodles account

  • Added TXN from back-end for sending Doodles to Non-Dapper Wallets

  • Replaced NFT Catalogue image for Doodles

  • Improved meta-data traits of Doodles

    • Improved Filter Options when viewing Doodles

  Bug Fixes:

  • Fix Testnet Tenant so it uses the same task as to setup Mainnet

  • Locked Names were showing Registered Button - Fixed.

  • Fixed multiple errors when making purchases with Dapper Wallets on Marketplace

  • Fixed - Expired .find names no longer show up in search box

  • Graffle 2 events with different IDs from same TX

  • Add front-end support to “Thoughts” for Dapper Wallet users

New Projects Listings:
Four new projects were integrated, these are now findable on the .find Platform:

There was a total of 4 different art pieces in the last drop, but only Pies and Helmets were packaged. Additionally, there were repetitive serial numbers in the drop that needed to be rectified.

This bug was quickly noticed and a hault was put on the drop.

Issue:
Bug found in the contract causing unregulated amounts of certain NFTs to be minted, along with duplicate serial numbers.

Quick Fix:
Upon noticing the issue, the minting process was paused until permanent solution was derived.

Solution for users:
Asked users to burn the initial season 3 NFTs, offering anyone who participated in the Season 3 mint a new Pack as long as they burned their older pack.

Also offer users who burnt an NFT a new custom artpiece from the artist - burnt pie anyone?

Developers:
Developers fixed the contract so this issue wouldn’t occur again using the Party Favors smart contract.

Conclusion:
- All duplicate serial numbers were burned.
- Airdropped users new Series 3 - Party Favors Pack
- Airdropped wallets that burned a special burnt pie NFT
- Fixed Party Favors Contract so these issues won’t occur again

Feature 1: Marketplace Tags:

Indicators were added on the bottom left of NFTs to quickly notify users which NFTs are listed on the marketplace and which one’s aren’t; making browsing an even more enjoyable experience.

Feature 2: On-Chain “Thoughts” Posts V1:

Thoughts, are an exciting feature arriving to our platform! These “Thoughts” are a fully on-chain, public messaging experience, allowing users the ability to write messages directly on the live-feed.

Feature 3: Upgraded Livefeed:

Our custom Livefeed now offers users the ability to Filter their searches, narrowing down their searches to exactly what they are looking for.

Feature 4: User Reactions and Watchlist:

This addition adds multiple ways to interact with our website and the NFTs being showcased. From building a custom favorites list, to counting views, and reacting to other thoughts, the interactive possibilities are here on .Find!

Feature 5: New On-boarding Process:

User profiles are how we showcase ourselves to the world, it is one of the standing hallmarks of PFP projects, interesting usernames, and personification of ourselves in the digital world.

Here at .Find, we want to make that process easier and more enjoyable, so we updated our system to guide users through a new experience when setting up their profiles for the first time.

We have profile names, and .Find names, more clarification will come on the two soon.

Profile Names: On-chain but not tied to the user wallet.

.Find Names: On-chain resources giving users unique domain abilities within the Flow Ecosystem.

Feature 6: Flowty Integration:

Flowty is an interesting tool allowing users to create NFT Loans and Rentals on the Flow Blockchain. Need a Top Shot moment for a specific challenge or a Flovatar just for the weekend? We at .Find have made it easier to find what you are looking for with this integration.

Feature 7: NFT Storefront Integration:

This feature shows NFTs are for sale using the NFT storefront contract from Flow. While your browsing other’s collections, you can now see who has items listed on outside marketplaces.

Feature 8: Website Visual Upgrades:

While browsing the website, you will notice numerous upgrades across the .Find site. These come together to make an overall more enjoyable user experience. These upgrades will continually be improved upon moving forward.

Mobile Experience Upgrades: New Mobile Models have been added for the mobile view, swipe away to close!

Sending NFT Upgrades

Feature 9: Sending NFTs? We made that easier also!

We added multiple new addition providing users more abilities and feedback when sending NFTs across the Flow Ecosystem.

• Wallet information — Not all Flow NFTs are compatible with all wallets, users will now have more information concerning the receiver’s wallet allowing for more informed decisions.

• Messages — You can now add messages to sent NFTs, allowing the sender to leave funny comments, congratulate giveaway winners, or simply say Enjoy!

• New user “Inbox” Feature — Flow has a spam filter on wallets, rejecting NFTs from collections not established previously on the user’s wallet. This sometimes prevents the user from receiving NFTs they might want, so we implemented the Inbox.

• Tip Jar — Saving a buck is always a plus, we added a tip jar when sending NFTs offering you, the user to tip the creators and platforms when sending NFTs. This is not mandatory but we wanted to empower users with the ability to continually support the communities they enjoy.

Feature 10: The Furnace — Burn Baby Burn!

We all have one or two NFTs that are no longer needed in the collection, now you can burn those unwanted pieces via our Furnace.

• This feature allows users to destroy unwanted NFTs

• It also allows creators the ability to create interesting concepts with their projects, giving fun integrations between creator and collectors.

Feature 11: Upgraded Roadmap Visibility:

Two bugs were found when sending NFTs to other users on the .find platform.

• There was a bug when sending NFTs to .find names linked to the “.find” suffix. Solved.

• When sending NFTs to an address that did not have a profile/find user account, the transaction would sometimes fail. This was fixed and now you can send NFTs to users with, or without a .find name/.find profile.

These two bugs were fixed upon their immediate acknolowedgment by the team.

Website Update:

Additionally, the warning banner was removed, referring to the Matrix Market vulnerability.

• Functionionality of our protection still remains, just the warning was removed.

Enlarged Collection Banners:

• With NFTs - it’s all about the artwork, and our new collection page design allows creators more surface area to showcase their work. WIth increased banner height, it provides a more immerive experiece to the marketplace.

• Additionally, Collection Banners are sourced automatically from on-chain elements found within the NFT Cataloge. This means banners stay up-to-date for creators everywhere.

Correct Social Links:

• Fixed bug where some social links weren’t working properly.

Faster Roadmap Notifications:

• A new bot was established to notify users quickly when new features are added to the roadmap and changelog. Allowing everyone the ability to stay up to date with the latest .find developments.
